“Bukovynian Art Center for Revival and Promotion of the Romanian Traditional Culture Development “
The organization aims to: defend the legitimate rights of Romanian ethnics in northern Bukovina to preserve, develop and express their ethnic and cultural identity; to organize programs for the preservation, promotion and capitalization of the Romanian traditional culture; to collaborate with organizations for culture, folklore, folk art and Romanian ethnics everywhere; to contribute to the capitalization of the historical, literary and cultural past, to contribute to the preservation of ancestral traditions and, last but not least, it aims to educate the young generation through artistic programs and other activities.
The center carries out a sustained program of capitalization of the cultural heritage, of stimulation of the contemporary creativity, through specific activities, thought in an integrative, multidisciplinary conception. With the main objective of challenging and maintaining a permanent and lively dialogue between the most diverse genres of creation, the achievements of the Center have proven to date, its involvement in the overall effort to integrate the European dimension of culture, preserving national identity and authentic culture. The center brings together outstanding personalities, both from the country and abroad, researchers in the fields of art and folk creation, folk groups.
Within the Center, as members are active: 8 branches (without legal status), 14 amateur folk bands, the Association of Folk Craftsmen, Fine Arts Studio, Media Club “Meridian”, Public Organization for Environmental Protection “Green Origins”, Orchestra of folk music “Trovafir Bucovinean” and departments active in other areas of social life.
Numerous specialists in the field of art, culture, science and education from specialized institutions, especially from Romania, non-governmental organizations and associations collaborate in the success and dissemination of the Center’s programs in order to emphasize the educational side of youth and broaden the cultural horizon.
The center has signed collaboration agreements and partnerships with:
Bucovina Cultural Center, Suceava; “Pro Bessarabia and Bucovina” Cultural Association, Bucharest; TVR Iasi; “Dacia” Association, Transcarpathia; Children’s Palace from Iaşi, Children’s Clubs from Suceava, Fălticeni; Bucecea Cultural Center, Botosani County; Popular schools of arts and crafts: Suceava, Târgu Mureş, Alba Iulia, Cluj; Ecological collaboration group “GEC-Bucovina”, Suceava; from the Republic of Moldova: Federation of UNESCO Associations and Clubs of the Republic of Moldova, “Two Twin Hearts” Association, “OWH” Association, “Always Together” Association, “Pfenix Bird” Association, Union of Musicians of the Republic of Moldova, and many other NGOs from country and abroad.
Since 2009 the Center has become an associate member of the Transylvanian Association for the Literature and Culture of the Romanian People “ASTRA”, the “M. Kogălniceanu ”, Iași, and since 2010 the Center has joined as a member-partner of the Federation of Associations and Clubs for UNESCO in Romania.
